The Foundation Board met on October 12, 2025. The Board reviewed and approved the final selection of 57 works for the retrospective exhibition of Else Madsen’s work planned for the summer of 2027. With the selection approved, the board will renew contact with the Museum of Danish America in Elk Horn, Iowa to set a date and begin organizing the exhibition.
48 of the 57 works selected are currently in Denmark, and many remain unframed. The Board discussed the logistics of transporting and framing those works. The board approved the transportation of the works if done professionally, and agreed that all required framing would be done after the works arrived in the United States.
The Board also briefly discussed doing further research on Else’s contemporary female artists, their role in the Scandinavian art world, and the potential for using artificial intelligence as a tool for advancing this research.
